I’m Mohammed Ilyas — Author, Researcher, Islamic Studies Student and creator of the Parent Influence System™.
For years, my journey has been about understanding two worlds together: Islamic guidance and the modern study of the mind, brain, psychology and child development.
Years of continued study in Islam, Qur’anic guidance, Prophetic teachings, tarbiyah, character and faith.
Study of the brain, learning, behaviour, habits, development and neuroplasticity.
Understanding the child's developmental stage, emotional needs, behaviour and growing capacity.
More than 3 years of working with parents has shown me something important: knowing what is right is not always the same as knowing what to do next.
Parenting can become overwhelming because information is everywhere. My role is to study, research and simplify what matters so parents can understand it and use it in everyday family life.
That question became the foundation of the Parent Influence System™.
Instead of giving parents another collection of advice, the system brings together child development, behaviour, emotional development, Islamic values, parent growth, personalised planning and guided implementation.
It is to help parents build the influence, relationship, faith and character that shape who their children become.
Every family has different challenges. Here are examples of the kind of change personalised parenting guidance can help parents work toward.
“Every night felt the same. My 5-year-old would resist bedtime, I would repeat myself again and again, and eventually both of us were frustrated.”
“The biggest difference was understanding what was happening instead of immediately correcting the behaviour. Our bedtime routine became much calmer.”
“My son seemed to argue about everything. I kept thinking he was simply being difficult, so I became stricter. That usually made things worse.”
“Looking at his age, needs and what was happening underneath the behaviour gave me a completely different way to respond.”
“Taking the tablet away would turn into shouting, crying and negotiation. I knew I needed better boundaries, but I wasn't sure how to set them.”
“I became much more consistent with the boundary and calmer when he reacted. The whole conversation around screens became easier to handle.”
“I was constantly reminding my 11-year-old about Salah. By the end of the day, I felt like I had spent more time telling him to pray than talking to him about anything else.”
“I started thinking more about his relationship with Salah, not just whether he had obeyed me. The conversations became more meaningful and much less confrontational.”
“My children knew the rules, but I kept wondering whether they were actually developing a connection with Islam.”
“It helped me look beyond simply making children comply. I became more intentional about identity, connection and the example I was giving.”
“Small things could make me lose patience. Then I would feel guilty afterwards and promise myself I would handle it differently next time.”
“Understanding my own triggers changed the way I looked at difficult moments. I became much better at pausing before responding.”
“I had read a lot about parenting, but in the actual moment I still wasn't sure what to do. Especially when I was tired or overwhelmed.”
“Having a clear plan made everything feel more practical. I wasn't searching for another answer every time something went wrong.”
Every family is different. Tell us what you're dealing with, and we'll help you understand where to start.
